6.  Comorbidities May Limit Benefits of Combination Prostate Therapy
(Posted: 01/30/2008) - Men with localized prostate cancer who are also ill with other disorders may suffer more from the negative side effects of anticancer treatments such as androgen suppression therapy, according to the Jan. 23, 2008, Journal of the American Medical Association.

(Posted: 06/20/2007) - The drug gabapentin (Neurontin®) effectively reduced the intensity and duration of hot flashes in a clinical trial of more than 200 men receiving hormonal treatment for their prostate cancer, according to findings presented at the 2007 ASCO meeting in Chicago.

(Posted: 02/15/2006) - An extract of the saw palmetto plant was no more effective than a placebo in reducing symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), according to the Feb. 9, 2006, issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
